Windows itself was the bottleneck.
Everyone running a bot in a VM hits the same wall: Windows eats 1.5-2 GB of RAM before you open a single thing. On a 16 GB machine you barely fit four VMs, and the fifth one starts choking the system.
But a bot VM has no use for interface animations, store apps, Cortana, or diagnostic services shipping data to Microsoft. We stripped all of it. What is left is the Windows the bot actually needs.
We built Byte ISO for our own products. Then we figured there was no point keeping it to ourselves.

Common questions.
Yes. No fee, no account, no email. We built Byte ISO so our own products run better inside virtual machines; that already pays off for us, so we are not asking for anything back.
No. The ISO ships no product key and we do not sell one. You need to activate Windows with your own license; Byte ISO only provides the configuration and the optimization work.
Windows Defender is installed but real-time protection is off to save resources; you can switch it back on from Windows Security in one click. To be clear: this ISO is designed for bot virtual machines. We do not recommend it for your daily-driver or banking machine.
No, Windows Update is off. It is left that way so the system stays stable and no update quietly reverts the optimizations. If you need it, you can re-enable the Windows Update service from the Services panel.
It does — you can install it on real hardware too. But the optimizations were tested on VMware, so that is where it behaves best. VirtualBox and Hyper-V should be fine as well; you just need that platform's own guest additions instead of VMware Tools.
With large ISO files, browsers and cloud services often warn that they could not scan the file. That is expected. You can verify the file is exactly the one we published using the SHA-256 checksum below.
